Media Justice and DTV: More Related Than You Think

The June 12, 2009, DTV transition, which ended analog TV transmissions and cleared the spectrum for public-safety systems and commercial broadband companies, means that some viewers now have more channels and clearer signals—but others have had to buy new equipment to continue watching free TV. Viewers unable to afford a converter box, a digital TV, or a subscription to digital cable have lost access to this basic information resource altogether.
