WE ARE THE COLOR OF FREEDOM: Resisting Racist Police Surveillance in a Trump Era – Resource Guide

On March 29, 2017, the Center for Media Justice and Color of Change co-hosted a virtual town hall, We are the Color of Freedom: Resisting Racist Police Surveillance in a Trump Era. Moderated by Brandon Patterson of Mother Jones, this event assessed the threat of White House executive orders on immigration and policing, discussed strategies to resist raciallybiased police surveillance, and re-imagined sanctuary for all in a Trump era. This resource guide provides resources that came out of the conversation featuring guest speakers Thenmozhi Soundararajan of Equality Labs, Joan Donovan of UCLA, Alvaro Bedoya of Georgetown Law’s Center on Privacy & Technology, and Deborah Peterson Small of Break the Chains.
